Namkaran Puja

Namkaran Puja is one of the most important Sanskaras (sacraments) in Hindu tradition, performed to give a newborn child an auspicious and meaningful name. The name is chosen according to the child’s birth nakshatra, planetary positions, and Vedic principles, as it is believed that a name carries vibrations that influence personality, destiny, and life path.

The puja is usually conducted on an auspicious day after birth, commonly on the 11th, 12th, or 21st day, or as advised by an astrologer or priest. The ritual includes Sankalp, Ganesh Puja, Navagraha Shanti, Nakshatra Shanti, Vedic mantra chanting, and blessings from elders.
