How to find Brahm-Sthan

Brahm-sthan is an important and significant part of the plot which should be kept vacant and free from any construction. It is the main center of any plot from where Vastu directions are determined which makes it an extremely important point. According to Vastu this area of plot should be fixed for open space with no construction because Brahm-sthan is the root of energies that are dispersed to every corner and surrounding of the plot. So construction in the center of the plot means blocking the main energy that keeps a living place lively.

Brahm-sthan is considered as powerful & holy zone in the house represented which is as scared as Ishaan zone (North-east) that is why it is immensely important to keep center non-obstructive and tidy to better inflow of energies. Brahm-sthan or middle zone of the house should be kept free from things/objects, clean, and if the possible sky opens just like a courtyard or open balcony. An open courtyard or center brings all kinds of riches and prosperity to occupants if followed accordingly by Vastu.

How to find Brahma-sthan

Where does the middle part of any plot go to Brahma-sthan or Nabhi-sthan?

• To know the Brahma-sthan, divide the length of a plot or house into three parts.
• After that divide its width into four parts and join all the parts through lines in such a way that they appear in square shape.
• In this way, a total of nine squares or rectangles will be formed.
• The middlemost part of these is called Brahma-sthan.
• The courtyard is the central place of the house.
• The Brahma place should always be kept open and clean.
• In the olden days, there was a check, courtyard in the place of Brahma.
• Leaving aside the matter of villages, the custom of keeping a courtyard in the house in the cities has almost ended.
• In Vastu Shastra, emphasis is laid on keeping the house courtyard.
• According to Vastu, the shape of the house should be kept in such a way that the courtyard must be in the middle.
• If there is a shortage of space, then keep the open area in the house towards the north or east in such a way that sunlight and heat can enter the house as much as possible.
• The Centre of the house can be easily discerned by dividing the plot in eight directions and the middle part of the plot should be considered as Brahm-sthan.
• The Centre portion of the plot can be used as the courtyard and the main hall can also be constructed here.
• Avoid constructing toilets, bathrooms, or septic tanks in the Brahm-sthan.
• Avoid making Kitchen in the center place because the fire in Brahm-sthan can bring undesirable effects to occupants.
• Avoid staircase in the center of the house instead any kind of construction leaves it open for relaxing or meditation.
• There should be no beam in the center of the house.
• Avoid sleeping in the middle of the house.
• Store room, arches, or other construction should be avoided in Brahm-sthan.
